World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players increase the gear rating of an item upgrader up 700 points and also give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like a perfectly rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not vary greatly post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats like the chance to crit, attack damage, PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons also come with an unchanging bonus that increases their damage per second. In addition, many weapons have a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon is present on a single unit. In some cases this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon is able to upgrade by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the gun will increase until it needs more Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also reroll the stats of the base. While this is usually a good thing, it can have some negative consequences as well. Upgrades can make things unusable, unless you are extremely lucky.
Armor items can also be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms, this will increase the defense of its base, while a belt and gloves will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it can sometimes reduce its value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with their relative values. This means that the weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 times less often because it's an absolute statistic.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button that has circling arrows in the item menu. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but it will not reset the weapon's levels, or connect it to an account's status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you can receive from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.
To upgrade your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them, and each requires you to complete a specific side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and have completed the corresponding fountain you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. For example, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a decent-sized group of enemies in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to survive a full on raid with a handful of friends.
You can't upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or the power of spells. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll wear at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use for the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be beneficial to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets that allow you to stealth around certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by the participant, produce the player with a temporary effect. There are five types of potions that have different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing the effectiveness of their effects. In addition the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.
Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a crafting table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion used and the Best item upgrader's rarity as well as Mark Level.
To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI which allows you to select the potion you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they'll offer when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade in the event that you take it out again or break the bottle in which it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change the name of the potion.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the mechanics of potions. For example splash potions now have a duration of 0:08 (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item upgrader mod). The potion table can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be used in cauldrons. The same is true for the use of a potion in an empty cauldron. This will drain the potion and refill the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions that are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to extend their effects. The table of potion ingredients is now organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added, such as the potion of leaping and the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket could be an ornamental item upgrader kit that is small, cheap or piece jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that has a purpose but is not important as a thimble. In some cultures, trinkets are used to signify friendship or affection, especially between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players in addition to weapons or armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be traded out at any time without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available using tokens, gold, or fragments from trinkets that are rare.
Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade players for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as the older one, and come with an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Once the old Trinkets are no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value with time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their most important items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries and then other items of gear they will not be replacing soon (for instance an earring or cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when deciding which items to upgrade. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank it is recommended that they upgrade their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level once they no longer have value and the new trinket will have an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than buying a new one.
