World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade, and aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally some weapons come with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a single unit. In certain instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon is able to upgrade on its own.

A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also reroll the stats of their base. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative effects. For items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them could render them useless unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.

Items of armor can also be upgraded to boost their performance. This will increase the base defense of a chest or helm, while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may reduce its value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain after upgrading, along with the values of these stats. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 times less often because it's an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button within the item upgrader kit menu using the arrows that circle. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make the world of difference to your survivability. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which makes traversing tough areas a breeze. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has, the more value you get from every point of health you possess, so it's important to upgrade your armor as much as you can.

To upgrade your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four fountains in all each of which requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and mastered the corresponding fountain and then you can speak to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in cold environments with a lot of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense, which means you're able to survive a battle with your comrades.

It isn't possible to upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or spell power. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also get some perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades for the chest armor and helmets to let you escape some monsters.

Potions

Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed give the user an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to enhance their level of effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.

Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount of XP. This can be obtained by making them on a table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion used and the item's rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI that allows you to select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change its name.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the way potions are used. Splash potions, for instance are now available with a time of zero, not the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display of the item. The potion table can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players playing Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be combined in cauldrons. Similarly, using a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the contents and refills the bottle.

Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are made with splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions' effect is extended by adding redstone to it. The potion table has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added for instance, the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket is a tiny and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an object or ornament that serves a function but is not particularly important such as a tiny thimble. In some traditions, trinkets are used to symbolize affection or friendship, particularly between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons, armor, and potions. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be swapped out at will without losing their stats.

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with tokens, gold, or fragments from a rare trinket.

The upgrade of a trinket can be an economical alternative to buying new ones. One can upgrade a trinket with as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as previous one, and will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

When the old Trinkets are not usable, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them an attractive alternative to gold.

In general players should make upgrades to their most important items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear, and then other equipment that they won't be replacing in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). When deciding on which items to upgrade, players should be aware of the class's preferred stats. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should prioritize upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and helm.

Once they have become useless, trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket has an additional 1% bonus. A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than purchasing a new one.
