World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.
For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item's level increases.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using less upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using normal methods.
A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
The player can have up to five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will drop during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much it will improve after a future reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly, and it is possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the chance of failure, and a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade items parts that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 as soon as possible.
It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes more quickly.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs as well as also a few rare glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is Best item upgrade to put Glyphs in key places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The system of upgrading items lets players increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is also known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each item level requires a different number of components to reach, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is advanced in level.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each upgrade item Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item upgrader mod will have a unique bonus. This can be a disadvantage in that it could make the item more expensive if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a completely different set of extra bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be repeated often since it can waste resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants a buff if the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. This item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is very important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of a non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original state which means that the player has to pay for more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like crit chance, attack damage, or additional effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item upgrade definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item may have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. The player will still need to take every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the cost listed above.
