WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boost in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.
The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item upgrader mod used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.
You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, however, they are always cheaper than buying new gear. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show an item's preview at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the Item level upgrade; historydb.date, and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade items recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be boosted by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and an issue.
In Season 3, the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and several new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is even if those items are from another set of equipment.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

Another notable change is that crests have one use, so it's important to use them wisely. It's Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
