Path of Exile Item Upgrades
item upgrader mod upgrades are a common and crucial method to enhance the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.
Often times however upgraded Common and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade gear due to their high requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They boost the stats of whatever item level upgrade upgrade (information from valetinowiki.racing) they are attached to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of games and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Alternately, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components in them using a specialist or more powerful salvage kit.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it will take on. The upgrade of an armor piece to its highest upgrade level will increase its ability to absorb damage. It is important to note that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be more heavy.
There are a few different types of armor upgrades available in the game, and they all have distinct effects. Some upgrades give armor a greater number of health points, while others make it lighter and more powerful. The name of the armor upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade the item can be given, as illustrated below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which are indicated by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Some upgrades also require charges to use, and are indicated by a "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are updated daily or never expire, depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest way to upgrade armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be found by exploring the environment and looting minor loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, however, it is available at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can give players a significant increases in stats and are well worth the investment.
The player should be aware that upgrading a piece to its maximum upgrade level can increase its defense values. However, it can also reduce its agility and its speed. Therefore, it is typically not recommended to upgrade most armor pieces that are higher than +9 because the increase in defense is generally not worth the extra weight and power cost of the upgrades required.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. For instance an upgrade can enhance the damage caused by a shotgun's shells or the accuracy of the rifle that snipes. Certain weapons also come with upgrades that enhance their inherent characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, reduces the risk of the possibility of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's acceleration to cause more damage) are two examples.
The majority of upgrades to weapons require a whetblade. It's one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain number of bosses and monsters.
To upgrade the weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade, you must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars required to complete it. If you have multiple upgrade materials, the cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets has changed a bit. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific number of Bars. You could do this until your weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level and at that point, the upgrades would be reset.
It's possible, but it depends heavily on RNG. You should consider buying equipment with minimal upgrade levels but with high base scores and stat distributions. These items have a better chance of granting you the most prestigious tier of blessings and perks.
To level up faster, many players be more inclined to upgrade their weapons. Additionally, players should consider upgrading the weapons favored by their teammates to increase their power as well. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to enhance its effectiveness when accompanied by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are utilized in the armor's sockets and weapons, enhancing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. They can be made through an process known as jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem and a number of specific ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the level of the gem, the greater the secondary effect. These reagents are obtained in the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and sometimes by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The Jeweler can boost the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Depending on the tier of the gem it can provide different stat boost when slotted into gear, weapons and jewelry.
All tiers of jewels can be made at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a certain level to be able to get the privilege of having them. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without destroying the original. However you can only swap out the jewels in an equipment piece only once.
It is normal to use more jewelry to enhance the appearance of. Jewels also enhance performance and make a surface harder than steel so that repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to the movement.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the appearance of your shields and weapons. These are a small perk and can be swapped out at any time however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Crystal. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components like aegis or traits cannot be exchanged, and can only be found with an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets can provide your hero with a variety of small, but beneficial advantages. They are available in the starting area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They can also be obtained from vendors and by completing road interaction. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinket a player can unlock is the cloak. It grants an unimportant but beneficial boost in speed of movement and evasion. The player can then acquire necklaces, rings, and amulets in a similar manner similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with a slot for an upgrade which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be placed in any type of equipment however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and is only compatible with specific types of trinkets.
These trinkets grant additional buffs and abilities that are active when the hero isn't fighting. This lets a hero become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also make up for the lack of a good team or talent tree slots which would normally be filled by the hero's best stats.
As a rule, trinket upgrades should prioritize BiS (Best in Slot) items you won't replace soon. Then, you should consider any items with desirable statistics that are less significant than the iLevel for the item upgrader kit that is to be upgraded. This is particularly true if an item upgrader mod has multiple stats that you wish to upgrade, as it's usually more beneficial to upgrade one important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.
Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red trinket at the start of the game. Top and mid players on the other hand, will choose a pink or green ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices can impact the ability of a hero to control the map.
In addition to the items listed above, players will discover other trinkets in form trophies and rewards throughout the game. They can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story. For instance, finishing the main quest of a chapter or beating an opponent. You can check them out by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
