Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes that boost its base stats or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.
Typically items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while items with strong bases such as eth titans do not vary in their stats following being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or additional effect when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot from enemies, or obtained from chests and missions. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.
In order to upgrade an item of armor, the player has to select it, and then click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.
There are three types of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be put in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of item names. For instance adding a Glyph could transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools If a player replaces one glyph by another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before being "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, but the materials required do not. This lets players focus their efforts on a few important items to maximize their impact rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across several pieces.
This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Power and it is reset to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it can receive affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes available will depend on the Best item upgrade's base. For instance an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade requires the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests, depending on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item does not attain its maximum level The NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. The process can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of materials but will have lower chances of success.
Engineers may employ a level to compare the height of the building against a known location, such as a benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level and then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important element of the game and can improve an item's damage, strength, or other attributes. This can be done through the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be handled with care.
The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to obtain tokens for rerolls. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item upgrade. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and upgrade cost of the Best item upgrade.
Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them easier to roll. This meant that you could get the stats that mattered most to your build often than others. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each stat. This can be either good or bad, based on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.
Each upgraded item upgrader kit can also have a unique bonus that boosts the power of the item by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you improve a product, the greater your chances of receiving the bonus of a different kind.
The game also comes with a number of sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending an excessive amount of money.
Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling can provide a much faster route to a more powerful character and allows them to climb higher levels and progress in the game faster.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be arranged in different ways. They can be of different dimensions, have no elements, or only have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways such as size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Armor sets with the highest defense value or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. However, most upgrades to weapons don't improve the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade in the event that your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already huge.
Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own special functions which can be useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their counterparts in their tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items could increase their defense and improve their performance in terms of damage.
To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button in the screen for their character. It will show the item's features, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
In general, weapons and armor have a higher trade value when fully updated. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs for spells or weapons and are upgraded to gold is recommended since it will result in a significant increase in their power. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
