What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds an additional widget at the top of both the Angel and Cash Upgrade Windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors and offers no benefits to gameplay other than making it easier to find and buy upgrades.

Some items have a built-in boos which is less beneficial when upgraded. For instance, the Goldwrap has an extra potion slot. These are usually upgraded to increase the value of a perfect or near-perfect Best item upgrader.

Costs

Upgrades have some associated costs. The first cost is the upgrade itself. The cost for this upgrade can be costly and is contingent on the new value of the item and the number of perks it gets. It can also be expensive to upgrade an item to a higher level (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).

The second is the cost of the materials needed for an upgrade. These items are usually Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. The amount of these materials needed can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. Depending on the size of the upgrade, it could take anywhere from 8 to 12 hours. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated based on the new ilvl of the item, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines the latest Armor Class bonus, damage dice, and other important stats. In some cases an upgrade may grant additional perks. These perks are listed on a list.

In rare cases the upgrade will replace only the highest-costing perks. Occasionally, the upgrader will make other adjustments to an item, for example, changing its weapon damage type or adding or removing an unwieldy or operative property. These modifications are based on an item's ilvl. They may also require special materials, such as the adamantine.

Success Rate

The upgrading of an item upgrading is based on the chance. Like any random system there is a chance that it won't succeed. However, there are some things that can help to increase the chance of success. These include the use of an item dubbed an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of extra materials to the upgrade.

An Upgrade Pity is an item you can purchase from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the odds of an upgrade being successful by some percentage. It's similar to the "luck bonus" that certain items provide however it is more reliable. This can be added to any weapon or armor, and is used three times.

It is also possible to add a variety of additional elements to the upgrade, which increases the chance of success. These materials are displayed in a window above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is shown directly above the + button.

A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version thereof, can be used to increase the chances of an upgrade succeeding. This item is beneficial when you own an item or weapon equipment that has reached the maximum level for its tier, or is close to it. It will let you upgrade that piece of gear to the next level without having to worry about breaking.

If an upgrade is unsuccessful the upgrade will be reversed to its previous state. This is often a downgrade, but could also be an upgrade. It is an excellent idea to save an upgrade when you're near the highest level of an item, and to use it as a last resort.

Kafra has a number of products that can be utilized to increase the chance of an upgrade being successful. You can boost your chances of success by upgrading equipment several times using HD Oridecon and HD Elunium. In the same way, increasing the likelihood to receive a Double Mint from Shoe-Minting a maximum of five times will also increase the success rate.

Failure Rate
