World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will gain 3% of its previous damage for every time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them. The item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and can't be used multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will improve following a subsequent reset.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a high chance that the item could be obsolete or even break when it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in their radius, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them up to level 15 as soon as you can.
You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.
Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced again are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the various Glyphs, and there are also a few rare glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Using the Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, so you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For example that a Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item upgrader comes with a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a problem because it can make the item more expensive if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for some items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it could waste many resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player continuously enters or exits the water. The Best item upgrader can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is very important in PvP. A properly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of a unupgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting back to its original state, requiring the player to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied before any attack damage increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an Best item upgrader is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements from standard gear. For instance they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. However, players must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the cost listed above.
