WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.
The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade items their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will show the item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.
Many locations offer item upgrader mod upgraders, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item level upgrade upgrader at start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a positive and a drawback.
In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with some new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less, even when they belong to another set of gear.
The discount is available to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item upgrader mod level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to gear of a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complicated may require as many as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests in a wise manner, as they have only one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
