WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.
Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for those with higher variance due to the need to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader (simply click the up coming document) allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
Upgrades can cost more based on the item upgrader mod level, however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show an image of the item upgrades at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.
Item upgraders can be found at many locations including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader kit upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as a drawback.
In Season 3, the upgrade system was altered a bit, with some new features added. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain item level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is regardless of whether the items come from another set of equipment.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced as well, but is only available after certain milestones are reached.
Crests
When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a few options. They can choose to use Flightstones, which are a general upgrade item currency that is accessible to all, or crests, which are more specialized and used to upgrade specific item levels. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the type of equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through completing content at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another important change is that crests only have one purpose, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrader gear you have available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
