WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item upgrading will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They are purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade item is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will display an item's preview when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

upgrade items costs differ based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Upgraders for items can be found at many locations including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players finish certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as an issue.

In Season 3, a number of new features have been added to the upgrade item system. After the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This applies even if the items are from a different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that Crests are only available to gear with a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the kind of equipment being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an item level upgrade upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once an item reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests only have one use therefore it's essential to use them properly. It's Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
