WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. Each upgrade items also boosts the random substatus.
The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.
The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through item upgrading upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and current Item Upgrade (Metooo.Io) level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.
Item upgraders can be found in many places, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a positive and an issue.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and numerous new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will be less expensive, even when they are part of a different gear set.
The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. They can use Flightstones that are a common upgrade currency that is available to all players, or crests, which are more specific and consumed during upgrades at specific levels of the item. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be spent on gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader kit upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests with care, since they only have one use. It's best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
