Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, like the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, providing an added bonus or effect when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot from enemies, or obtained from chests and missions. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player must select it and then click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be as well as the necessary element or material required to make that happen.

There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type limitation. Infusions are gems that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of the item's name. For instance, adding the suffix Glyph could transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that are able to be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from earlier versions. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item is able to be upgraded as many times before it's "leveled out." The upgrade item cost is increased with each level however, the materials needed do not increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items, rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This allows the item to receive upgraded components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it is able to receive affixes that will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the Best item upgrader's class. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade process will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is located in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item does not reach its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the choice to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower chance of success.

To determine the height of a building, engineers will use an instrument to compare the measurement to an established reference point, such as a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod, then turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to a high level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game, and it can boost an item upgrades's damage, strength or other characteristics. You can do this via the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling is costly and should only be used in the rarest of circumstances.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to earn tokens for rerolls. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a similar item upgrader kit. Recyclable items come with an indicator that indicates the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrades were given priority affixes which made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than others. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be a great or a negative thing dependent on your needs and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could have a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to the regular affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher your chance of getting a unique bonus.

The game also features various sets that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on the same unit. This is a great method of giving a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the initial stages. This is because rerolling can provide a much faster path to a powerful character and allows them to climb higher levels and advance in the game much more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They could be of various dimensions, have none of the elements, or contain one element. They can be used to organize data or to sort information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways, including size and shape.

There are a range of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Sets of armor that offer high defense or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, most upgrades to weapons don't improve the stats of the item when in comparison to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already large.

Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own special functions which can be beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to par with the different tiers. For example the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button in the character screen. This will display the item upgrader kit's features, as well as the required items to upgrade it. For instance the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor have higher value when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their stats. This will also increase the defense value of armor that has an updated appearance.
