WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item upgrader mod will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item level upgrade (www.bitsdujour.com), but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. button, which displays an item upgrader kit's preview at its next upgrade items level when the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an Best item upgrader has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.
Item upgraders can be found at many locations including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible via a variety of ways. This is both a positive and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less, even when they are part of an entirely different set of gear.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain achievement milestones.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.
First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment of a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests have one purpose therefore it's essential to use them wisely. For instance it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to avail the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
