1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They have top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model), they use intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept at cleaning dog hair. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first option. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.
It's still a great deal for those whose home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save money. It's also very quiet and you can use it while you're at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying dustbin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This top-performing mop and vacuum combination uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns your home's layout over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and customize zones through the well-designed app. It has a battery lifespan that is comparable to other models.
You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a carpeted room which prevents cross-contamination. The flex arm is great for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to clean an entire home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a good job cleaning a variety of rooms and floors with various flooring types, such as some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically empties into its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums it, something we haven't seen in other robot vacuums that mop vacuum/mop combos.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
This robot vacuum reviews vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the bulky models of the competition. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score an exemplary 10/10 in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
As with other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering an easy mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite a noisy unit which could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to sleep.
It's also quite expensive but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and some additional cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robot vacuum cleaners uk mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, as well as washes and dry mop pads.
The smart robot uses an array of LIDAR and structured light to map out the floor plan and detect obstacles, and navigates more effectively than some of its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time, though this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.
Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home in accordance with the amount of dirt they tend to be.
For larger houses it's worth looking for one that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one particular area of your house using the app or via voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families that are busy, a recharge function and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be very useful.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more advanced than the price suggests. It vacuums well, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot app is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping which collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to organize the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance. The app also gives access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

The twin cameras are shaped like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get caught on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
