Robots That Vacuum and Mop
robots that vacuum and mop - blog - provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills or staining) in one session without the need to switch out devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is easy, and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time. You'll have a an entire dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
You could, for instance, ask the robot vacuum cleaner best to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only drawback is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, an instant glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that shows the time when maintenance is required, such as emptying debris and cleaning robot mop and vacuum the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro automatic vacuum and mop robot and mop come with plenty of running time as well, with the mop being capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend although we would like to be able to differentiate between a vacuum only or mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot automatic vacuum cleaner and mop, is the most recent version. The model of this year features an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners might miss.
This Roborock model, just like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It will then automatically alter its path and clean the objects without a pause.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml tank of water. The water tank self-empties and the bin auto-filling.
The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. But you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot cleaner vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It also has a high-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also comes with a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to access low-profile furniture which makes it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots, which is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Contrary to other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and intuitive The X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to clean and has many convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also detect whether the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive available, but it packs in many additional features that distinguish it from. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a useful method of keeping your home cleaner for longer.
There are plenty of options, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via direct buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also offers a number of features that aren't offered on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list however it's not a lot of weight. It is solid and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
