WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also added to every upgrade.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader kit upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.
You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrading will be based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item level upgrade (More Tips) as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.
A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a positive and a drawback.
In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading further items to that same item level will be less expensive, even when they are part of a different gear set.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available when certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade item path. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, depending on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by engaging in outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another significant change is that crests only have one use therefore it's essential to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is Best item upgrader to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
