World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.

If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will gain 3percent of its previous damage every time it's upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before a component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for example "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade can modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item upgrader will be available during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of how much it will increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide a bonus if reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.

Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced again, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values that can enhance a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs, you will need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for example should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system lets players increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different number of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets leveled up.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be eligible to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When the player upgrade an item it will be replaced with an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will become the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could cause the item upgrader to become more expensive if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrader upgrades. The item will be replaced by the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can waste many resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or does not swim as a dolphin). The item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This Best item upgrade is extremely useful in PvP battles, since a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense and weapon upgrades items boost their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition and the player having to purchase more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance, attack damage, and all additional effects associated with the effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it increases its crit chance it will be applied before any attack damage increases. Slots is a new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its base value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items may have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For example they may require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to take every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the cost that are listed above.
