It can get stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including clearing out any toys or clutter it may come across. It is also recommended to keep the filters and dust bin free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it left off. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes 3 hours to charge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in the iRobot flagship line, and it comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its auto-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for routine maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and remote control vacuum cleaner your robot with voice or via the app.
In our tests the i7+ performed quicker and more maneuverable than our top choice and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin, which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to begin or stop cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. The biggest issue with the V10 is its limited run time. The claims of its marketing that it can last up to 60 minutes of run time are a bit misleading as CR's tests show. This is an average and not a remarkable time for a battery-powered cordless vac. This is enough time to clean a typical-sized home, but not enough to reach every spot. (A second run is usually sufficient). However, this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is noticeably superior on carpets with a low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on an expensive robot. It's capable of sucking up all types of debris and sizes during our tests, and often goes over the same areas multiple times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps to get into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice addition.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and J7+ Series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or low furniture and will often run out of power before returning to its original location.
