Path of Exile item upgrader Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading them. They can be a good source of damage and more AD or even more affixes.
Often times however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is beaten out by Rare-grade gear because of their high requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be applied to weapons and armor items. They improve the performance of the item upgrade they are attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items with upgrade components in them using a specialist or more powerful salvage kit.
The amount of damage an armored item upgrader kit or weapon will absorb is contingent on the degree of upgrades. The ability to absorb damage of a piece armor will increase as it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. However, it's important be aware that this upgrade will increase its weight, which will cause it to weigh more than before.
There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game, and each one has distinct effects. For example, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain number of health points while others will make it lighter and stronger. The type of armor upgrade that an item upgrading can get is indicated by the name of the upgrade as shown in the table below.
Some of the upgrades also require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which are identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Additionally, some upgrades require charges to use, which is shown by the "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are either continuously updated or never expire depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest method to upgrade armor is with Iron Ore, which can be obtained by exploring the environment and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive however it is obtainable through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied on high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can give players a significant improvements in stats and are well worth the investment.
A piece of armor upgraded to the highest upgrade level will significantly increase its defense values but the wearer must be aware that increasing its weight will dramatically reduce its speed and agility. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The added defense generally isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades give players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Some weapons have special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic capabilities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and minimizes the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases projectile acceleration for more damage).
Most upgrades for weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade to apply. They can be gained by completing Side Quests or killing a certain amount of bosses and monsters.
Upgrades to a weapon, equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost of a set number of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade, the more advanced the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials, the cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the method of upgrading your weapon and equipment sets has changed a bit. In the past, you could seek out an Upgrade Bench and pay a set number of Bars to upgrade your weapon or equipment to an increased quality. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would be reset.
This is still possible, but it relies heavily on RNG. You should consider buying equipment with minimal upgrade levels, but high base scores and stat distributions. These will then have a chance at gaining you the most prestigious benefits and blessings.
To level up faster, many players prioritize upgrading their weapons. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their teammates utilize to increase their power. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when accompanied with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to improve the effectiveness of a skill or provide additional effects on weapons and armor. They can be created through the process of jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem with various ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the quality of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be found around the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and sometimes by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The quality of a diamond can be improved by the Jeweler, with stages that range from Crude to Royal. Based on the level of the jewel, it will provide a different stat boosts when inserted into gear, weapons and jewelry.
The Jeweler is able to create the highest levels of gems apart from the rare and legendary ones, which require a certain level to get. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without destroying the original. You can only replace the gem only once in a piece of equipment.
It is common to use more jewelry for aesthetic reasons. Apart from improving performance, the diamonds create an outer layer that is more durable than metal, which means that repeated friction with pivots doesn't cause harm as easily.
In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades players can also obtain glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These provide a small bonus and are able to be swapped easily but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold, and also Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, like traits and aegis, cannot be swapped out, and can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets can give your character various small, but useful benefits. You can find them in the starting area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They are also available through vendors and after doing road interaction. They can also be crafted by jewelers and later found or purchased on the Trading Post.
The first trinket a player will unlock is the cloak. It gives a small but valuable boost in speed of movement and the ability to evade. The player can then collect necklaces, rings, and amulets in a similar fashion to how they acquired weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with a slot for an upgrade which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any device. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.
These trinkets also provide additional buffs and skills that remain active even when the character is not fighting. This allows a hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It also helps compensate for the lack of a excellent slot in the talent tree or team which are usually filled by a hero's top stats.
A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is true especially if you are looking to upgrade multiple statistics on an item upgrader mod; check out this blog post via Qooh,. It's best to upgrade just one crucial stat than two less important ones.
Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red trinket at the beginning of the game. Mid and top players on the other hand, will choose either a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's map control abilities.
In addition to the items listed above, players will also find other trinkets in the form trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be earned by completing certain milestones in the story. For instance, completing the main quest for a chapter or defeating the boss. You can check them out by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
