World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before the component can be used. upgrade items components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item upgrade it is used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with fewer Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level using standard methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear even when they're not sure what will be improved after the reset.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be costly and there is a substantial risk that the item upgrader mod may be obsolete or even break when it fails; a failed upgrade will cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as you can to level 15.
In the endgame you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in strategic locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their primary damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be eligible to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.
When an individual player improves a piece of equipment it will be replaced with the new item. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback, as it can make the item more expensive if you don't need it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a completely different set of bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it could waste many resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This item upgrader mod can be upgraded many times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
The upgrade of items allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense and weapon upgrades items increase the damage they deal and also increase their strength and dexterity.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each each time you upgrade an item it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the more you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to revert back to its original state, which will force the user to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like chances to be crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For instance, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will have to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of the ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the costs mentioned above.
