Three Wheeled Buggies
Three-wheeled buggies are ideal for walking around the neighborhood or for jogging. Their compact design makes them easy to manoeuvre even in tight spaces.
For a smooth ride, go for a pram that has air-filled tyres and look for models with 360deg front swivel wheels. They are susceptible, however to punctures. Make sure you have a repair set.
Sturdy frame
New figures show that three-wheeled buggies that were the symbol of the noughties that were more expensive than common sense, are in a steep decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, which are more versatile and easy to drive and look stylish.
The principle is that the larger the wheels, the easier it will be for your buggy to deal with bumpy and rough pavements. Having larger wheels both front and back also makes it much easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or over difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tested the buggy with a newborn as well as a 3 year old and found that it was able to withstand cobbles, grass, rough pavements, dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath wrote "it feels sturdy to push and is very stable when you're on rough terrain. Its tyres, which are inflatable and require to be pumped regularly, have built-in suspension. This was extremely comfortable for my children.
Another thing to think about is the size of the seat and shape. It should be large enough for your child's comfort. You will also want it to be able to recline to allow them to lie flat. Certain three-wheel buggies have an option to lie flat completely while others will only allow the parent to be facing one.
A great option for those who want to tackle off-road and muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. This buggy can be used as a one-person unit from the beginning and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for infants and toddlers from birth until age 4, and comes with a bumper and raincover, a new 5-point harness, and a huge cushioned seat. The storage options are good as well, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets in the hood, and an attractive pouch at the back of the seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels mean that your buggy will have more stability on uneven terrain, which is ideal for off-road buggies. They also help you maneuver the buggy through tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies have the front wheels that swivel to assist you in maneuvering around tight corners, while others are designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability at which they can be driven. This is also useful if you crash into a tree or a kerb. The front wheel will be lifted slightly to keep it from hitting it.
Many 3 wheeled pushchairs have air-filled tyres, which allows them to navigate a wide range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They are also lighter. They are also more susceptible to punctures, so you will need to have repair kits and an spare inner tube in your arsenal.
Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo lux are some of our favourite 3 wheel pushchair-wheelers. These buggies, according to MFM's Kath, have larger wheels, which, she says "perform well on grass, gravel roads and market town cobbles", and can easily go up or down kerbs. The buggies also have a suspension that, according to Kath "smooths out bumps very effectively".
The downside of having bigger wheels is that they make buggies quite large and may struggle to squeeze through narrow spaces. This is a problem especially if you're using it to an exercise bike or to be able to get through doorways that are narrow when you're out and out and about. Luckily, most models have compact folding options that allow you to take off the front wheels to make compact storage.
Easy to manoeuvre
A three-wheel buggy can be more comfortable to drive with children. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels can turn on a dime, and are easy to move, making them ideal for terrains that are difficult, such as parks, cobblestones as well as bumpy roads and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3 wheel double stroller-wheeler with her toddler and newborn and wrote: "The Terrain was a pleasure to navigate over the rough ground with the swivel rear wheel particularly useful. I was also awed by how well it coped with the kerbs, particularly when using the brake operated by hand. I found it to be extremely stable when driving downhill or over uneven terrain."
The only drawback to this amazing maneuverability is that the 3 wheel pushchair cheap wheel buggy's bigger wheels sometimes mean that it can struggle in tight spaces, something to be aware of when you live in a urban area. If this is the case, a 4-wheeled buggy may be a better option for you.

Kath who was our MFM reviewer, also adored the roominess of this buggy. There's an easily accessible large basket that's surprisingly spacious for a buggy that's this big. Plus, there's also a handy pouch on the back of the unit, and two smaller mesh pockets under the hood where you can keep your phone and keys.
