Boosters
There are a myriad of enhancements that can be obtained with an upgrader. These could include stats as well as bonus bonuses. These bonuses can be utilized on armor, weapons, and trinkets. They can be used to boost the abilities of the character, or can be used to add an aspect of variety to the build.
The upgrade system in World of Warcraft allows players to upgrade the quality of their gear by spending currencies at an item upgrader NPC. This system was first introduced in Mists of Pandaria, and continued with Warlords of Draenor. It's a great way to increase the quality of your equipment, which lets you to skip the grind and avoid the countless wipes in Mythicand Dungeons.
When an item is improved its basic type will change. The upgrade of a normal item will create an Exceptional item while upgrading an item that is Exceptional will create an Elite version of the base item. The item will be able to keep the stats it had prior to upgrading, and will gain an extra bonus of its new base type. The bonus is randomly chosen. It could be a weapon that has a greater damage range, an improved speed of reloading, or enhanced max defense roll.
The amount of extras that you gain by upgrading is contingent on the amount of upgrades completed. Each upgrade will increase the extras in question by a factor of one up to a maximum value of 3. Each upgrade will also boost the main stats by +1.
In addition to the stat boosts certain upgrades can also provide a random boost. These boosts can be quite useful and should be taken into consideration when deciding what items to upgrade. Some of these boosts are beneficial in certain builds (such as Whistan's shield for FB sorcs) while others can provide a great deal of value to specific collectors.
Some items have an inherent boo that is less useful when upgraded, for example the Goldwrap that gives you more slots for potion. These are usually upgraded to inject more value into a perfect or near-perfect item.
Costs
Upgrades come with a few associated costs. The first is the upgrade itself. This cost depends on the new level of the item and the amount of perks it will gain and can be costly. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) are costly.
The second is the cost of the items required to upgrade. These items are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons, or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. These materials are available in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.
It takes time to upgrade an item. Depending on the size of the upgrade, it can take as long as 8 hours. The base stats of an upgraded item are calculated based upon its new ilvl as well as other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonus, damage dice, and other important statistics. In certain cases the upgrade can grant additional benefits that can be chosen from a list of perks.
In rare instances the upgrade will replace only the most expensive bonuses. Sometimes, the upgrader will make other changes to an item, for example, changing its weapon damage type or or removing an operative or unwieldy property. The cost of these changes is based on the item's current ilvl and it may require a special substance, such as an adamantine alloy.
Success Rate
The upgrade of an item upgrades is dependent on the chance. Like any random system, there is a possibility that it won't succeed. However there are some things that can help to increase the chance of success. This includes the use of an item known as an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of extra components to the upgrade.
An Upgrade Pity is a product you can buy from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the odds of an upgrade being successful by a certain percentage. It is similar to the luck bonus certain items offer, but is more solid. It can be added to any weapon or armor, and is used three times.

There are however limitations to this, and the maximum amount of material that can be added is displayed just above the + button in the user interface.
Another method to increase the chance of an upgrade succeeding is by using an item called a Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is helpful in the event that you have an item or weapon equipment that has reached the maximum level for its tier, or is close to it. It will let you upgrade that piece of gear to the next level without having to worry about breaking.
If an upgrade fails, it will be reverted to its initial state. This is usually a break, but it can also be a downgrade. You should save an upgrade until you are nearing the maximum level of an item.
There are several items in the Kafra shop that can be used to increase the odds of a successful upgrade.
