The Best Double Buggy Strollers
If you're expecting twins, or have two children of different age groups, then a double buggy can help you get out and about. The best ones are easy to manoeuvre and handle rough surfaces and kerbs.
They also have features like large sun canopies as well as hoods that are transparent and seats that are adjustable.
1. Baby Jogger City Tour Double
The City Tour 2 Double is the smallest double stroller in the Baby Jogger range. It's made for travel and easily fits through most doors with its narrow design, it's also one of the lightest double infant stroller buggies on the market weighing just 14lbs when folded. It's perfect for traveling with a newborn and toddler because you won't be able to exceed the allowances for luggage on airlines. It can also be folded up to the size of a small travel bag, so you can store it in the back seat of your car.
It's easy to fold the Z-shape using one hand. Once you've gotten used to it, it is compact double stroller and can be folded in a matter of seconds. However our tester discovered the auto lock to be a bit confusing and as the handlebar wasn't locked into position when you press it, it landed on her legs when she used it. The handlebar was a little too short particularly with a large changing bag hanging off it.
This double stroller is not as light as other travel buggies. It's got a broad variety of features, and is one the most versatile double strollers on the market. It's compatible with two carry cots (available separately), offers multiple recline positions, and a UV 50+ canopy. You can even add the bassinet to either or both seats to transform it into a travel system.
The four tires made of rubber are great for pavements as well as urban terrain. However, they are not made for off-roading. They struggled with gravel and long grass and there wasn't enough clearance between the wheel bracket and wheel which meant that mud could get stuck easily. Our testers loved this buggy and was able to climb some pretty muddy hills.
iCandy Orange
The iCandy Orange double buggy is the most stylish, versatile and quality. It is a must-have for parents looking for a stylish, high-quality stokke double stroller buggy that lasts. The 2021 update includes some changes, that improve manoeuvrability as well as an even bigger, better shopping basket that has been redesigned with a bumper bar and leatherette cover. The seats are very comfortable and feature a moulded look. They're also adjustable so they can be placed to meet siblings' needs. iCandy has introduced the first 'cinema seating' design that allows parents to keep eye contact with their children. They can be repositioned so that they face either the parent or the world.
It's a heavier tandem buggy however it's very easy to use and steer, especially on smooth roads. It feels stable in both double buggy For Twins (maps.google.nr) and single modes and even on sloping ground. It's not as simple to drive on public transport, however, as it requires more than one hand to grip the handlebar. It's also quite heavy and will not fit in a standard car boot with the seat attached but this can be overcome by cautious planning. iCandy includes the footmuff and changing bag in the price, making this an excellent value package for parents who are just starting out.

This fashionable and practical city stroller can be used by twins or a toddler with a baby or even three children with the addition of UPPAbaby’s ‘PiggyBack’ board (sold separately). Its sleek frame and compact dimensions make it ideal for shopping malls and narrow streets in cities. 5. Nipper Double V5
The Nipper Double V5 from Out 'n' About is a new version of the award-winning all-terrain buggy. It's designed for siblings or twins, and features independent reclined seats, compatibility carrycots and a light frame that allows for easy maneuvering on uneven terrain.
The height adjustable handle and rear wheel suspension provide the comfort of children up to 22kg, while the durable pneumatic tyres are easy to clean and give a smooth ride when jogging. The 360-degree swivel can be locked to allow for easier maneuvering around town. The one-pedal, easy lock brake is also easy to use.
Our test participants found that the Nipper Double was incredibly easy to maneuver, even walking on uneven ground or turning fast in the middle of a busy street. They were also amazed by the fact that both seats recline independently, meaning they can be adjusted to fit individual needs - ideal for napping.
They also appreciated that the hoods were able to be moved back and forward making them easy to adjust to the sun or for wind protection. They didn't provide the same amount of coverage as the Baby Jogger City Mini Hoods. It's probably worth carrying an additional rain cover in the case.
Overall, our testers were impressed by the Nipper double's ability to allow them to take their twin daughters Sydney and Lyla to all sorts of adventures. From exploring the forest for wildlife to rushing to a park to play with their friends They loved it. They were also awed by how cosy and spacious the two seats are, with plenty of space for toddlers growing to stretch out in. Our testers did note that the lack of parent-facing seating and the inability to use car seats with the buggy was a disadvantage, and they would like to see more storage space to store shopping items and other accessories.
