WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade.
The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for the latter because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.
Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be bought by players from item upgrades upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with the help of button, which will display a preview of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.
Item upgraders can be found in many places, including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrades upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade require various methods, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if those items come from another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced also, but is only available after certain milestones are reached.
Crests
Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item Level upgrade (nutdog76.werite.net) level upgrades. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade item path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities, or by taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrades upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another significant change is that crests only have one purpose and it's crucial to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning on making. This is particularly relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
