Greenpower Mobility - All-green energy mobility scooters Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles

Greenpower creates and builds, as well as distributes a full suite of high-floor and low-floor all-electric heavy and medium-duty vehicles. This includes transit buses, school buses as cargo buses as well as shuttles.

EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle with a high degree of customisation. It's also fully FTA certified and Buy America compliant. It provides a wide range of options, ADA wheelchair provisions, and cargo delivery configurations.

EV Star

GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete line of heavy and medium-duty electric vehicles, including high-floor Green Power and lower-floor models. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship vehicle, and it can be customized to suit a wide range of applications. The design of the platform is based on a clean sheet of paper, which allows for the best positioning of the battery pack and a lower center-of-gravity. This leads to better payload/range ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The class 4 refrigerated trucks' one interior wall structure and a higher insulation level than traditional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer service life. The EV Star REEFERX delivers superior cargo capacity and a world-class payload to range ratio for zero-emission passenger and cargo transportation.

greenpower scooter joined forces with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems that will allow fleets to transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able to support wireless charging of 75 kW.

We had the opportunity to test the EV9 for several hours on a local freeway and found it easy to drive and Power Mobility comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth on ruts and bumps, while the EV9 is a master of reducing the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. The acceleration is quite quick, and the car comes with adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by taking off the accelerator.

The EV9 has a wide range and can be charged in just three hours or less at home, or with any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. The eco mode is a preference for the torque and cruise control while the sport mode is designed to maximize speed and handling. Both are a lot of fun to drive and offer an unique experience for anyone who has never driven an electric vehicle before.

In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicles available, including a multi-purpose all-electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used as executive shuttles, microtransit or transit vanpools, buses, or paratransit vehicles.

GreenPower is already producing around 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is working to replace their fleet of old diesel vehicles with 100 fully electric vehicles. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demand of the Biden Administration which wants to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants. We will be following the AV Star as it makes its public demonstration tour later this year. We will be sure to give more details about this innovative EV!
