Top Rated Robot Vac Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep your floors clean enough to decrease the frequency of manual hoovering. Look for one that offers good navigation, can sweep corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that has to be emptied only periodically.
There are models that can mop and charge on their own, a feature that may be beneficial for those with children or pets. A lot of the top 5 robot vacuum performers in our tests have good obstacle avoidance.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those looking for a an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the robot's dustbin when it is full.
Both robots are adept at removing surface dirt on hard floors and carpets, and they can easily navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart map of your home to help the i3+ navigate and clean up efficiently. However, unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we evaluated the i3+ does not have obstacle-avoidance capabilities and therefore it could be stuck on things like socks or power cords, and may have issues traversing transitions across surfaces like from hardwood to rug.
iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it might come across. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filters free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station, and it automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes about three hours to fully recharge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in the iRobot flagship line and is equipped with the most recent features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most important feature of all -- it comes with an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your best robot vacuum deals using the app or voice.
The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin that removes major maintenance sources and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session and move around the room and vacuum the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After being connected, to voice commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world full of cordless vacs that look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model is a sports car. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide fade-free power for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system traps allergens and releases cleaner air back into your best home vacuum cleaner. Its specialized cleaning head drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to collect large dust and crumbs. It comes with three suction modes to match the task at hand. It quickly converts from handheld to floor vacuum and back again.
This model also has a dock that charges to 100% in 3.5 hours and provides easy access to two attachments and a Wand clip. This is a significant improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The main issue with the V10 is its short running time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a typical and not a remarkable run time for a battery-powered cordless vac. This is enough time to vacuum the average-sized home but not enough to reach every spot. (A second run is usually sufficient). That's not to say this model isn't a good choice: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is noticeably superior on carpets with a low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have lots of money to spend on a robot. It's capable of sucking up most types of debris and sizes during our tests, and often passes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice feature.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it lacks the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, like our top picks, i3+EVO and j7+ Series. This means that it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it frequently is power-depleted before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum cleaner price vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects, as it has fewer parts that need regular cleaning It also comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most purposes, as it has a better battery life, the ability to change its suction power mode on its own and has physical boundary strips, and is operated by your phone's voice assistant. It is also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and is more effective on low-pile and bare floors.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not surprising, then, that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is loaded with cutting-edge onboard intelligence tech for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app gives you plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior customization docking frequency settings and much more. It's easy to understand and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors. It cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). It did not do well in avoiding taller items such as socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than the other models we tested which could be a problem for certain shoppers.
The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that you can access through the app. You can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to keep track of your pets or kids when you're away from home. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned to ensure a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic clean station which helps to keep the robot's bin clear and maximizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard flooring. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path and a larger dustbin that holds 2X more debris than competitors to keep the area clear for maximum runtime. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers that clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense that automatically adjusts the power level depending on whether it's picking up dirt that is on the surface or embedded. It also comes with a smart app that lets you browse the virtual map and control the functions and schedules. Additionally, you can track the battery's status and send it back to its dock to charge at the touch of a button. The app lets you customize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum so that you can tell where it is focused or if it's stuck.
The application also allows you to steer the robot manually should you need to. My living room rug, for instance is darkly colored that can trip up some other robots. However the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, but it didn't register it as a cliff. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
