MFM test subject Georgina found this crib very easy to build and the instructions were clear, which made it an easy and quick build. It folds down to the smallest size, and comes with a convenient travel bag.

Bedside cribs are usually easy to put together, and are usually on the smaller side to fit neatly alongside your bed. They also tend to be lighter, which makes them more transportable. Easy to clean
Look for cribs with mattress covers which can be washed in the machine when looking at bedside cribs or travel cots. This will keep it clean and free of spills, spills, and leaky diapers. It's also a good idea to choose one that is easily disassembled and dismantled in parts, so that you can access all the nooks and crannies for an extensive cleaning and sanitising.
This is essential, as it will ensure that all germs and dirt have been cleared away. Verify that the sides of the crib are securely attached to ensure that your baby doesn't fall down or get trapped.
You'll also want to ensure that the crib is easy to clean and that it fits with your bed. This is particularly important if you're using a bedside cots crib for co-sleeping. These cribs are designed to be connected securely to the parent's side, giving parents to have easy access to their baby throughout the night to feed and comfort them, while ensuring the safety that separate sleeping surfaces provide.
Another thing to consider when choosing a bedside cot co sleeper crib is whether it comes with additional features that you may find useful. For instance, some cribs come with the capability to rock (useful for babies who are fussy) or tilt, but keep in mind that you should make use of this feature with caution, as it can be risky if your child gets out of the crib.
You'll need to ensure that your crib or travel bed is made of a firm, flat mattress that is snugly fitted into the frame. This will decrease the chance of SIDS by making sure that your baby's feet and head don't slide down into any gaps or folds in the bedding.
It's a good idea buy a new mattress for the crib or travel cot rather than using one that was used previously or purchased second-hand. Mattresses that are used are more likely to lose their shape with time, increasing the risk for SIDS. All cribs new to market must be compliant with BS EN1130:2019. This is the most current standard that introduces stricter requirements to ensure safe and effective sleep solutions.
