WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for the latter because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade item will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
Upgrades can cost more based on the item level, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using the help of The button will display the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.
Item upgraders can be found in many places including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

Crests
When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a few options. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific upgrades to the level of an item. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
First, you should know that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, based on the kind of equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.
The use of these currencies isn't too complicated, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrader gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
