Path of Exile Item Upgrades
item upgrades (Going to Digitaltibetan) are a common and essential way to boost the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can be a good source of additional damage or more AD or even more affixes.
Rare-grade equipment can be superior to modernized Common or Magic gear due to their high demands.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be used on weapon and armor items. They boost the performance of the item they are attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of games and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. They can also be salvaged using a professional or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrade components from items.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it is able to take on. The absorption of damage by a piece armor will increase as it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade items level. But, it's important to note that this will also increase its weight, which will cause it to weigh more than it was before.
There are a few different types of armor upgrades that are available in the game and each one has distinct effects. Certain upgrades grant armor an extra number of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The kind of armor upgrade an item will receive is indicated by the name of the upgrade as shown in the table below.
A few of the upgrades are also magic or a hybrid of magic and technology, which is identified by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Some upgrades also require a charge to use, which is shown by a "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are either continuously updated or never expire depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest method to upgrade armor is with Iron Ore, which can be gathered by exploring the environment and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, however it is obtainable from smelters located in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant boost to performance and are worth the investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.
The player must be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to its max upgrade level will increase its defense value. However, it can also decrease its agility and its speed. Therefore, it is typically not recommended to upgrade most armor pieces that are higher than +9 since the defensive boost gained is generally not worth the extra weight and power costs of the improvements required.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Certain firearms also have enhancements that enhance their intrinsic characteristics. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).
The majority of upgrades for weapons require the use of a whetblade, or one of the three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.
To upgrade a weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade You must go to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee that is a certain amount of bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade the more expensive the upgrade. If you have multiple upgrade materials, the cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade weapon and equipment sets has changed a bit. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a certain number of Bars. You could continue doing this until you reached a maximum upgrade level for your equipment or weapon, after which the upgrades would reset.
You can still do this but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're much better off going to stores and buying gear that has low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. These will then have a better chance of bringing you the most prestigious perks and blessings.
To level up faster, many players prioritise upgrading their weapons. Players should also upgrade the weapons their squadmates use to make them stronger. Shepard for instance should upgrade his M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used in conjunction with biotic specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to boost the stats of a character or to provide additional effects in weapons and armor. Jewelry crafting is a method for making them, where you combine the gemstone with specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the level of the gemstone, the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be found around the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The Jeweler can improve the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The stat boosts will vary depending on the tier the jewel is in when it is inserted into jewelry, weapons, or equipment.
All kinds of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a high enough level to obtain these. Unlike other upgrade item components, jewels are able to be swapped with a jewel of the same type without damaging the original one. You can only replace the jewel once within an item of equipment.
Using more jewels in a movement will make it feel smoother and is typically used for aesthetic reasons. The jewels also improve performance and create an outer layer that is more durable than steel, so that the repeated friction from pivots do not cause damage to the movement.
In addition to the upgrades mentioned above players can also get glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs give a slight boost and can be freely swapped, but they're not guaranteed to show up as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded by the Jeweler to exchange gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be taken out, which returns them to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as traits or aegis cannot be exchanged, and can only be retrieved through an upgrade extractor or salvaging using Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are a great way to give your character various small, but useful, advantages. They can be acquired starting in the beginning areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, or by performing road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinkets that a player unlocks will be the cloak, which gives an unimportant but beneficial boost to movement speed and the ability to escape. Then, they can acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in the same fashion to how the player acquires weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with a slot for an upgrade that can be either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any device. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and only work with certain trinkets.
These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't in combat. This enables the hero to be more effective when not active and may also help make up for a lack of a solid team or any talent tree slots which would normally be filled with the hero's ideal statistics.
A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you won't be replacing in the near future, then any items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true if an item has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade, as it's usually better to upgrade a single crucial stat than two subpar ones.
Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red one at the start of the game. Top and mid players however, will choose either a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's map control abilities.
In addition to the items mentioned above, players will find other trinkets that form of trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be earned by completing certain milestones within the story. For instance, completing the main quest for a chapter or beating an opponent. You can check them out by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
