robots that vacuum and mop (site)

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one time without the need to switch devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads with the dock that is specifically designed for them.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide can get you running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For instance, you can ask the robot vacuum best to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models cannot. The only problem is that the robot is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However, a quick look at the cleaning history on the app will tell you exactly what the robot accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs need to be done including emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank by itself by using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to remove smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another surface. It can then change its path in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects without stumbling.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and has only three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.

The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and configure these smart features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

It also lets the robot to reach under furniture with a low profile, making it a great option for apartments or condominiums with small spaces. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that assists the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by excessive back-and-forth movements.

Unlike some other robots that only focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or separately. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.

Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you if the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot vacuum that vacuums and mops that's among the most expensive models available, but it packs in many additional features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and soiled spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature since it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum and mop models and could be a great method of keeping your home clean for longer.

There are plenty of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of features that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing however it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
