Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one session, without having to switch devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its modest price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual gets you up and running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and also vacuums well. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it can hit objects and walls at full speed - but a quick glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that shows the need for maintenance for cleaning up debris and cleaning the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the water tank automatically by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being capable of operating for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and easy to understand, though we would like to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuums that mop mop and vacuum, is the most recent version. The model of this year features an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction automatically and clean them without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons that include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.
The only issue I encountered in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot vacuum that vacuums and mops crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mopping capabilities. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.
The X40 is the first robotic automatic vacuum cleaner and mop cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It also has a high-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another standout feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush, which lets it get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. It also allows the robot vacuum cleaner to access low-profile furniture which makes it a great option for apartments or condos with limited space. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that allows the X40 to avoid damaging floors by excessive back-and forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming at the same time or individually. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is easy to use and intuitive, and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous features that make it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station will automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect if the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It has many features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it comes with an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature because it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a good way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
There's an impressive amount of options available, including the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a number of different preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has many options for customising your cleaning routine. It also has several features that aren't offered on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on the market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list, but it's still not excessively heavy. It is solid and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
