Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry and wet messes in one session without the need to switch devices. They also can save space in comparison to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots that vacuum and mop to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can opt for the robot to take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are excellent too, with the robot cleaner with mop being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only issue it has is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but an instant glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs need to be done like emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or mop and vacuum clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot hoover vacuum and mop is the most recent version. This year's model has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that enables it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners might miss.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they're walls or other surfaces. It can then change its direction in a way that is automatic and clean around them, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-filling.

The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to take off the mount itself to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to allow voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while also saving time.

The X40 best robot cleaner vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair, crumbs and other dry debris. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without using a pad. Additionally the X40 is very quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also comes with an additional side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like chairs and table legs. It also allows the robot to get under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that allows the X40 to avoid damaging floors by excessive back-and forth movements.

Contrary to other robots which only focus on one task, the X40 can do both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or in a series. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is intuitive and user-friendly, and the X40's smart features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you if the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive on the market, but it packs in a lot of extra features that set it apart. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it comes with the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and soiled spots.

The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This feature is great because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's a plethora of options available, including the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a variety of preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also comes with a number of functions that are not available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list but it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
