1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have tested. They feature motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. As with other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model), they use smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans and avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it spots an abundance of dirt on the carpet, allowing it clean quickly.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.
However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for a dry one in seconds.
