World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will be able to gain 3% of its previous attack damage every time it is upgraded.

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item upgrader kit's current level. The cost increases as the item's level increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the item to which it is applied (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using fewer upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of an item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure how much it can be improved upon an update.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the Best item upgrader way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values that it can improve a statistic by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain tools for gathering unlimited use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the many Glyphs and there are also a few rare glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Using a Glyph will boost all the nodes that are linked to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance an Druid should aim to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but also consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to improve the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When the player upgrades the equipment they have it will be replaced with an item that is new. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item comes with its own set of bonuses. This can be a downside since the item upgrader kit may be more expensive even if you do not need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to be able to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will have a level 1 base and a completely different set of bonus bonuses. This is useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it could waste many resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the max roll by an increment of 10. This item is very valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of a non-upgraded version.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to upgrade the level of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an item, it has an opportunity to fail. The rate of failure increases as you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to revert back to its original state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will reset to zero. Additionally the item will be deducted any gained bonuses such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade item slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Players will still have to take each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the cost that are listed above.
