Item upgrading is a key factor in maximizing the potential of your gear. It allows you to add extra bonus stats over the value of your basic item.

Each upgrade template comes with an array of options that can be set up using the edition GUI. These options include the upgrade reference and the chance to upgrade.

Upgrade components

The process for upgrading weapons, armor and other equipment in Cyberpunk 2077 has been reworked as part of the 2.0 update. Upgrade components are scattered across Night City. The item you'd like to upgrade should also have an upgrade slot. If you select an item to upgrade the game will display an image of what the expected stats will be after upgrading, as well as the necessary component or item required.
