There are a variety of boosts you can get with an upgrader. They could include a variety of stats, as well as many additional bonuses. These bonuses can be incorporated into weapons or armor, as well trinkets. They can be used to improve the abilities of a character, or they can be used to add an aspect of variety to the build.
The World of Warcraft upgrade system allows players to upgrade their gear by paying a currency fee to an upgrader for their item. The system was introduced in Mists of Pandaria and was extended with the release of Warlords of Draenor. It's a great method to boost the level of your equipment, allowing you bypass the monotonous grind of completing quests and avoid numerous wipes in Mythic+ dungeons.
When an item is upgraded, the type of item it is upgraded to. Upgrading a normal item will create an Exceptional item while upgrading an item that is Exceptional will result in an Elite version of the same base item. The item will keep its pre-upgrade stats, and will receive an additional bonus from its new base type. The bonus is randomly chosen. It could be a weapon with an increased damage range, an improved reloading speed, or an increased defense roll.
The amount of extras that you gain by upgrading is contingent on the amount of upgrades done. Each upgrade will increase the corresponding extras by an increment of 1, up to a maximum of three. Each upgrade items will also increase the stats of the main game by +1.
Some upgrades also provide an additional random boost in addition to stat increases. These secondary boosts are extremely beneficial and must be considered when choosing which items to upgrade. Some of these boosts are suitable for specific builds (such Whistan's shield, for FB sorcs) while others could provide significant value to certain collectors.
Some items have an inherent boos that are less beneficial when upgraded, like the Goldwrap which gives more slots for potion. These are usually upgraded to add value to the perfect or nearly perfect item.
Costs
Upgrades have some associated costs. The first is the cost for the upgrade. The cost is based on the item upgrade's new ilvl and the number of perks it gains and can be costly. It can also be expensive to upgrade an item to a better tier (such as Explorer > Champion or Veteran > Heroic).
The second is the cost of the items needed to upgrade. These items are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons, or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords Of Draenor Quests. These items can be found in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.
It takes time to upgrade an item. It could take as long as 8 hours depending on the size of the upgrade. The base stats of an upgraded item are calculated based on the new ilvl as well as other properties. This calculation determines new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, and other vital statistics. In some instances, the upgrade will grant additional perks that can be selected from a list of available advantages.
Rarely, the advantages obtained will cost more than one perk slot In these cases, the upgrade will only replace the most expensive perks. Sometimes, the upgrader will make other modifications to an item, for example, changing the type of weapon damage or removing or adding an unwieldy or operational property. These modifications are based on an item's ilvl and may require special materials, such as adamantine.
Success Rate
The basis for upgrading items is a chance, and like every random system, there's an opportunity that the upgrade won't succeed. There are a number of methods to increase your odds of success. This includes the use of an Upgrade Pity or the addition extra materials to your upgrade.
An Upgrade Pity is an item that you can purchase from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the chances of a successful upgrade by some percentage. It's similar to the "luck bonus" that some items offer however it is more reliable. This can be added to any weapons or armor, and is used three times.
It is also possible to add a range of additional elements to the upgrade, increasing its chances of success. These materials are displayed in a window above the + button. There are however limitations to this, and the maximum amount of material that can be added is displayed just above the + button in the user interface.
Another method to increase the chance of an upgrade succeeding is by using an Best Item upgrader known as a Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is useful if you have a weapon or piece of equipment that has reached the maximum level for its tier, or is close to it. It allows you to upgrade the equipment to the next level without having to worry about it breaking.
If an upgrade fails the system will be returned to its original condition. This is usually a break, but it can also be a downgrade. You should save an upgrade until you reach the maximum level of an item.
Kafra has a number of products that can be used to increase the chance of an upgrade being successful. For instance upgrading an item of equipment with HD Oridecon or HD Elunium multiple times will provide you with an increased chance of success. Also, increasing the chances to receive a Double Mint from Shoe-Minting a maximum of five times will increase the success rate.
Failure Rate
The upgrader of an item allows players to add an extra card slot into their equipment. These slots can be used to apply an enhancement or enchantment on an item upgrades. It is important to keep in mind that not all items can be upgraded. The rate of upgrade and enchantment is based on the rank of the item. The higher the rank, the more Zen and items you'll require to upgrade it.
This system can be very expensive, particularly for top-of-the-line gear. It can cost between 100,000 z and 100 Carnium to upgrade a weapon or armor. The rate of success decreases as you go up in rank. You can increase the chance of upgrading an item by making use of cash shop items.
Normal Upgrade is the most basic upgrade that can be carried out on armor pieces, weapons and bikes. It uses different grades of core depending on the type of item. In general, lower grade items require cheaper cores while higher grade items require more expensive ones.
You must have the correct number of cores before you can perform a normal upgrade. Once you have them then click the button next to the item that you want to upgrade. The upgrade window will then display a percent indicator of your chances of success. This percentage is based on the upgrade level of the item as well as the core type you have selected.
You can also opt for a safeguard that will protect your item in the event of a failure. The cost of this protection will differ but will always be lower than the cost of a new item. The safeguard can be used only once per upgrade, and is not a valid expiry date unless it is used again.
The interface for the item upgrader could be confusing, but it is not impossible to navigate. The main menu is displayed on the left side and the upgrade window on the right. The arrows to the left of the UI represent the various stages during the upgrade process. Click the question mark icon to get assistance if you're not sure what you're doing. The process of upgrading can take up to five minutes.
