World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as as some non-ascended items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of that equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player can have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will drop in the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade items their gear even when they're not sure how much it will be improved after the reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a significant risk that the item may become obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item upgrader. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Certain upgrades also provide an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded many ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 as soon as possible.

You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade items component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Utilizing Glyphs Glyph can boost all nodes that are linked to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The system of upgrading items allows players to increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This can be a disadvantage because it can cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens in order to do this. This will cause the Item upgrader mod to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will have a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, but it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can use up many resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants a buff if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item upgrader kit is extremely valuable in PvP as the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The upgrader for items lets players increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, armor, and trinkets) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set and weapon upgrades items boost their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to go to its initial state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item is not upgraded, the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned, such as chances to be crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items may require different upgrades than standard gear. For example, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will still need to take every piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
