Baby Jogger Summit X3

The Summit X3 stroller is one of Baby Jogger's most sought-after models. It is a hybrid jogger/stroller that can be used pushchair for rough terrain jogging or walking on any terrain. The large air-filled tires as well as pushchair all terrain-wheel suspension provide a smooth ride for your baby. The cushioned seat reclines almost flat and is endorsed by the EC for infants*. A vented seat top increases airflow when the seat is reclined. The included adaptor allows this model to be used with all infant car seats. It comes with a signature one-hand fold that is super quick and simple.

It's on the higher end of the all terrain running strollers (like the BOBs), but it has many advantages. Single-action brakes come with a reassuring click and are easy to operate, even while being in your child's arms. The hand-operated deceleration brake is also useful, particularly when you're running up a hill.

The handlebar also has a remote-action swivel locking system. It allows you to quickly switch from swivel mode and back to locked for running, without having to bend over and touch the front wheel, which may be dirty or muddy. Switch the lever back to swivel once you're done.

The Baby Jogger Summit X3 features a large UV50+ canopy, along with side air vents, and windows that can be opened for peek-aboo. The canopy has plenty of coverage to protect your child from sun, and it can be adjusted to meet the changing conditions of the weather. It is rated for walking at 6 months and jog from 9 months. It folds using a pull of the handle made of fabric on the seat, which is super easy and quick even while you hold your child. When folded, it is compact and secured with the Velcro strap.

BOB Gear Alternate Pro

The BOB Gear Alterrain Pro jogging stroller is a top-rated item that has a high-quality suspension for a smooth ride for your child. The company's exclusive technology, called SmoothShox is able to absorb bumps and jerks to minimize the impact to your child and parent. It's a distinct contrast from other products, like the Revolution Flex 3.0, which has an excellent adjustable suspension but lacks the specific technology found on the Alterrain Pro.

The jogger's massive 16-inch rear wheels and 12 inch front wheel are designed to glide across the ground with ease and offer a great deal of maneuverability. The wheels are filled with air to provide a layer of comfort to your baby with the highest performance and durability.

Despite its weight, the Alterrain Pro is easy to maneuver and takes a relatively small amount of time to set up. The Alterrain Pro comes with a user's manual, and assembly is not required. The Alterrain Pro travel system is compatible with a range of infant car seats, including those from Britax, UPPAbaby and Chicco.

Its sunshade scored an upper score than other sunshade we tested, covering the knees to provide a superior shield from harmful UV radiation. It also comes with a cushioned seat that is sling-style and a reclined back that can be operated by pressing down on a lever with one hand. The padded legrest extends over the plastic footrest, adding the feeling of comfort. The Alterrain Pro has a sleek and modern design and is more polished than other models from the brand. The tubing for the frame is made of aluminum, which is rigid and has very little flexibility left-to-right. The stitching around the handlebars, basket and canopy is neat and tidy, and there are no knotted-up fasteners.

BOB Sport Utility

This stroller is available in either duallie or single versions for parents who are committed to their outdoor adventures. It is designed for off-road walking with knobby tires, a high-impact polymer wheel that increases traction. The front wheel is fixed to assist by ensuring stability while jogging and also aids in navigating difficult terrain. The adjustable suspension is state-of-the-art art and can handle any bumps. It has a handlebar which can be adjusted to suit parents of different heights, and a large storage basket for all terrain travel stroller of your equipment.

In our tests, the BOB Sport Utility was awarded a 6/10 score for running / jogging usage, which was just behind our top-rated model, which is the BOB Ironman. Its suspension, big wheels and air-filled tires make it much easier to run, and its suspension system and air-filled tires help absorb the shock from rough surfaces than the smaller ones on competing strollers (including our other BOB models including the Revolution Flex, and the Thule Urban Glide 2, both of which scored 9).

The Sport Utility is very good at maneuverability but not as easy to turn than other models featured in this review. It is required to tip the handlebar in order to turn. This is great on flat surfaces, but can be difficult to navigate in tight spaces, such as grocery stores or cafes.

The BOB Sport Utility offers the same safety features as other joggers, including a five-point harness as well as a hand brake and a foot brake. The BOB Sport Utility is also able to accommodate the majority of infant car seat adapters which are sold separately. We found the brakes to be responsive and easy to use, however we didn't love that you must use a lever near the front seat to lock the front wheel which can be uncomfortable when walking or jogging.

Baby Trend Expedition

This stroller is a great option for families on a budget. It is equipped with all terrain pushchair safety features, like 5-point harness, the tether strap and other security features, to ensure your children's safety during outings. The handlebar is ergonomically shaped with a wide rubber grip. It's also foam padded to provide comfort. This helps you navigate rough terrain and hills. It also comes with a huge storage bin that can hold two or more drinks which is handy for long excursions.

The Expedition is a jogger that carries infant car seats which makes it a great choice for parents with young ones. It's capable of affixing Baby Trend and Graco infant car seats to the adapter for car seats included, and it comes with an adjustable lockable front swivel that can unlock to allow jogging, or lock it for effortless strolling. It also comes with a multi-position reclined seat as well as a large storage basket for storage and reflections for the footrest to increase visibility in low-light conditions.

The Expedition is not as good in certain categories as our top-scoring models. It doesn't come with suspension systems that help to absorb the force of bumps or uneven ground, which could be uncomfortable for children who are just starting out. Its metal wheels don't last as long as those with bigger tires, so it isn't an option for those with rough surfaces.

The canopy of the Expedition is tiny and, doesn't offer much protection or coverage from the sun. Despite these issues, the Baby Trend Expedition is an excellent choice for families on a budget seeking an all-terrain stroller. It also has some other convenient features, such as a parent tray with cup holders and a child's tray with two cup holders.

Out and About Nipper Sport V4

UK brand Out 'n' About has gained a huge following for its range of jogging buggies, and this model is their most popular running buggy. It is lightweight and easy-to-steer and has robust 16" wheels that can take on even the toughest terrain. It has an articulated front 4 wheel All-terrain pushchair, which means it's simple to stop straight for running, but you can pull a lever on the handlebar to release and let the wheel swivel for easy strolling or hill climbing.

The suspension is great particularly on rocky and bumpy bridleways in Peak District where we tested it. The only niggle was that the handlebar brake isn't as responsive as we'd like, and the Nipper Sport V4 can't be used with a baby carrier or car seat (although it can accept an infant insert and comes with a compatible carrycot for occasional sleeping in the night).

The instructions are very clear and we were in a position to put it together in less than 10 minutes. The hood and the seat liner must be installed by you but it's not that difficult. It just takes patience to feed the harness straps into corresponding slits on the padded seat liners. The seat's back comes with a medium-sized bag, but it's not big enough to hold a changing bag.

The Out 'n' About Nipper Sport V4 is suitable for use starting at the moment of birth. However, it's recommended to wait until the child is six months old before using it for running. This is because the harness isn't strong enough to allow a comfortable fit for newborns, so you'll need to buy an additional carrycot or newborn insert.
