2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot vacuum and mop. It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles as a child-lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto vacuum and mop-filling.

The only drawback I could find with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these advanced features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.
