Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a common and crucial method to enhance the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can provide extra damage, AD or even affixes.

Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to the more modernized Common or Magic gear because of their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They boost the performance of the item upgrader mod they're attached to. Armor upgrades are found in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Additionally, they can be salvaged from items with upgrade components within them by using a specialist or more powerful salvage kit.

The amount of damage a piece of armor or weapon is able to absorb is dependent on the degree of upgrades. Upgrading a piece of armor to the highest upgrade level will increase the damage it absorbs. However, it's important note that this will also raise its weight, requiring it to weigh more than before.

There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game, and they all have different effects. For instance, some upgrades give the armor a certain number of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade the item upgrader kit (simply click the up coming post) can be given, as illustrated below.

A few upgrades also feature magic or a hybrid of technology and magic, which is shown by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Some upgrades also require a fee to use, and are shown by a "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges for these upgrades are updated every day or never expire, according to the upgrade.

The cheapest method to upgrade armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be gathered through exploring the surroundings and looting minor loot chests. Titanium is more expensive but is readily available in the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide significant boost to stats and are a worthwhile investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.

Upgrading a piece of armor to max upgrade level will significantly increase its defense values however, the user must be aware that putting on weight will drastically reduce its agility and speed. For this reason, it is generally not recommended to upgrade the majority of armor pieces that are higher than +9 since the defensive boost gained is usually not worth the extra weight and power cost of the improvements required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. For instance an upgrade item can enhance the damage caused by the shells of a shotgun or the accuracy of a rifle that snipes. Certain firearms also have upgrades that enhance their inherent characteristics. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).

The majority of upgrades to weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade. They can be obtained by completing side quests or by killing a certain amount of bosses and monsters.

Upgrades to a weapon, equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost that is based on a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars you will need to complete the upgrade. The cost of the upgrades will be lower if you have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed a bit. In the past you could go to an Upgrade Bench and pay for a specific amount of Bars to upgrade your weapon or equipment to a higher quality. You could continue to do this until you reach a maximum upgrade level for the weapon or equipment, after which upgrades would reset.

This is still possible, but it relies heavily on RNG. Instead, you're much better off going to the stores and buying equipment with low upgrade levels, but good base scores and stat distributions. They will also be able to give you the highest tier benefits and blessings.

The majority of players will prioritize upgrades to the weapons they use most frequently to make sure they are able to level up faster. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their squadmates use to make them stronger. Shepard for instance should upgrade his M92F so that he can unlock the Beretta M93R. This will increase the effectiveness of the weapon when used with biotic specialists such as Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels can be used to increase a stat or provide secondary effects in weapons and armor. They can be created through the process of jewelry crafting, where you combine a gem and several ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the level of the gem, the greater the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or by collecting Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The quality of a jewel can be improved by the Jeweler, with stages that vary from Crude to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ depending on the level the jewel is in when it's slotted into weapons, jewelry, or other gear.

All kinds of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a certain level to qualify for them. Jewels can be replaced with another jewel without destroying the original. However you can only swap out the jewels in an item of equipment only once.

It is common to use more jewelry for aesthetic reasons. The jewels can also enhance performance and create a surface harder than metal so that repeated friction from pivots do not damage them.

In addition to the upgrades mentioned above players can also get glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These provide a small bonus and are able to be swapped easily however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded by the Jeweler to exchange Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis or traits cannot be swapped, and can only be retrieved through an upgrade extractor or salvaging using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage.

Trinkets

Trinkets are pieces of equipment that provide many tiny but valuable benefits to your hero. They can be obtained in the areas of starting as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and through completing road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket a player is able to unlock is the cloak, which gives an unimportant but beneficial boost in speed of movement and the ability to escape. After that, they'll be able to acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in a similar way to how a player obtains armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and are able to be used on any device. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.

These trinkets grant additional buffs and abilities that are active when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This allows a hero to become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also make up for the lack of a excellent slot in the talent tree or team that are normally filled by the hero's optimal stats.

In general trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best item upgrader in Slot) items you won't replace in the near future. Next, any items with desirable statistics that aren't as important as the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true when an item has multiple stats you'd like to upgrade as it's often better to upgrade just one crucial stat than two subpar ones.

Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red trinket at the beginning of the game. Top and mid players on the other hand, will choose a pink or green ward, depending on the game's matchup. These choices will have a major impact on the hero's abilities to control maps.

Aside from the items listed above, players can find a number of other items in the form of trophies and awards. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story, like finishing a chapter's main quest or destroying a boss. You can view them by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
