11 "Faux Pas" That Are Actually Okay To Create With Your Item Upgrades
Path of Exile Item Upgrader Kit Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a frequent and crucial method to enhance the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can be a great source of damage or more AD or even more attaches.
Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to the more modernized Common or Magic equipment because of their high requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They improve the stats of the item that they're attached to. Upgrades to armor can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. They can also be salvaged by using an expert or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrade components from other items.
The amount of damage an armored piece or weapon is able to absorb is dependent on the degree of upgrades. The upgrade of an armor piece to its highest upgrade level will increase its damage absorption. However, it's important to be aware that this upgrade will raise its weight, requiring it to weigh more than before.
There are a variety of armor upgrade available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. For instance, some upgrades give the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The kind of armor upgrade an item upgrader can get will be indicated by the name of the upgrade, as indicated in the table below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a combination of technology and magic, as indicated by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees in order to be used. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are either constantly updated or never expire, depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest method to upgrade armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be obtained through exploring the surroundings and looting minor loot chests. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide a significant boost to stats and are worth the cost, especially for single-handed weapons.
The player should be aware that upgrading a piece to its max upgrade level will boost its defense. However, it can also decrease its agility and its speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The added defense usually isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Certain weapons come with special upgrades that enhance their inherent characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, and reduces the risk of overheating) and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's velocity to cause more damage) are two examples.
Most upgrades for weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade to apply. These are obtained through either completing Side Quests, taking out a certain number of monsters or bosses, or from the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.
Upgrades to a weapon, equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade price that is based on a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars are required to complete it. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be less.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a certain amount of Bars. You could continue doing this until you reached the maximum upgrade level for the equipment or weapon, after which the upgrades would be reset.
It's still possible, but it depends heavily on RNG. Instead, you're much better off going to stores and buying gear with low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a higher chance of granting you the highest tier blessings and perks.
To increase their level faster, most players will prioritise upgrading their weapons. In addition, players should consider upgrading the weapons they use with their teammates to make them more powerful and effective. Shepard, for example, should upgrade the M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more effective when used with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are placed in the armor's sockets and weapons, increasing the stats of a weapon and providing additional effects. They can be created through a process called jewelry crafting, which is where you combine a gem with several chemicals at a table. The higher the grade of the gem is, the greater its secondary effect. These reagents can be found around the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and occasionally by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The Jeweler can boost the quality of the gem in stages that range from Crude up to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ depending on the level the jewel is at when it is inserted into jewelry, weapons or equipment.
The Jeweler can craft all tiers of gems, except for the rare and legendary ones that you must be at certain levels to gain. Like other upgrade components jewels can be swapped with another identical jewel without destroying it. However it is only possible to replace a jewel in an item level upgrade of equipment only once.
It is typical to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. In addition to improving performance, the diamonds create an area that is stronger than metal, so repeated friction with pivots doesn't cause damage as easily.
In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades players can also acquire glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs give a slight boost and can be exchanged, however they are not guaranteed to show up as loot. Glyphs are upgradeable, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold, and also Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out from the inventory, and they are returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits and aegis cannot be swapped out, and can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are items of equipment that bestow many small but useful advantages to your hero. You can find them in the starting area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They are also available from vendors as well as through the completion of road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinket a player will unlock is the cloak. It gives a small but beneficial boost in speed of movement and the ability to escape. Then, they can acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in the same manner to the way a player obtains weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that accepts either a universal or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be used in any kind of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and only works with certain kinds of trinkets.
These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero isn't fighting. This allows the hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It can also make up for the absence of excellent slots in the team or talent tree which would normally be filled by a hero's top stats.
A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best item upgrader-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by any items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item upgrades that is being upgraded. This is especially true when an Best item upgrade has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade as it's often more beneficial to upgrade one important stat than two sub-optimal ones.
Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one at the beginning of the game. Mid and top players on the other hand will pick a green or a pink ward, based on the matchup. These choices will have an impact on the hero's ability to manage the map.
Apart from the items listed above, players can discover a variety of other trinkets in the game in the form of trophies and awards. They can be earned through completing certain milestones in the story, for instance the main quest of a chapter or destroying a boss. You can see them by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
