The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its price is surprisingly low and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Be sure to inspect your robot vacuum with mop's brushes for hair tangled as well as large debris and clean them as needed. Some models will automatically empty their onboard dustbin into a larger one at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums best vacuums we've examined. They have motors that are top-of-the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top choice), they use smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also come with Carpet Boost, a feature which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our bare floor tests and are particularly effective in removing pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.

However, it's a good choice to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and can work while you're at work, or school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you need to, the mopping pad can be swapped for one that is wet in just a few minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying dustbin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuums with mop hoover for carpets but it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop makes use of advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it will learn the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. You can alter the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to remove and extend its mop. This can help avoid cross-contamination. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire home, and it did so with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms that had mixed flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming this feature, which hasn't been seen in other robot mop vacuum/mop combinations.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular look that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models from the competition. It's among our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud that could be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however it will cost you more and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a variety of sophisticated features to help you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and detect obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time however this was not 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also comes with an option known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

If you own a larger home, it is worth selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home must be cleaned by using the app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. Also the recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price suggests. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using a single pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or create the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app also grants access to many features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like adorable eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it is more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we have examined. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as an emptying bin.
