It can also be used as a stand-alone crib when it is not connected to the bed. It is packed with amazing features designed with parent and baby bonding in mind.

It is essential to keep in mind that this crib won't last as long once your baby turns six months old. You will need to purchase a larger crib. But, in general Roanna found that the Joie Roomie Glide was a really good buy and she especially liked its elegant design.

John Lewis sells the Roomie Glide for PS160. Roanna thought this was a reasonable price for such a cot. She liked the way it looked in her bedroom and believed the grey color would work in most modern homes. She did mention that it's not a good idea to rock a baby when it's younger as it can cause an unhealthy sleep pattern that can be difficult to overcome later.

It is also lightweight and easy to move around during naps or when traveling.

It's made from soft materials and features mesh sides that are breathable to help promote airflow. It's available in oak and charcoal and has a variety of melange fabrics that blend well with most decor styles. Anna found that it was solid and secure when it was attached to her bed. The legs snapped into place and the zippers were secured for safety. It took her around 10 minutes to assemble and didn't require tools, with clear instructions and a video as well as a customer support contact number should you run into any problems.

With the addition of a sofa bed extension kit, it can transform into an cot. While it won't feed your baby or magically make them sleep it will gently rock them until they go off!

The Chicco Next2Me Magic

This is one of the more expensive alternatives. However, it has numerous amazing features. It can be used as either a side-sleeper or a standalone crib that is suitable for babies from birth to six months. It has a new mechanism for opening and closing the side panel and is easy to use, even for one-handed operation. It's also more flexible than its predecessor, having 11 different height settings and retractable legs for a secure installation underneath any bed.

Our testers loved the ease of access provided by the side panel, that can be moved up and downwards with just one push of a button. This was particularly useful during nighttime feedings as they could reach in and pick up their baby without disturbing them up.

It is possible to lower the side panel by itself but this is not recommended, since it increases the likelihood that your child could get out of the cot. The safety locking system guarantees that the side panel will only remain in place when it is properly attached to the mattress of the parent. This is an excellent feature to have in place for peace of mind, especially in the case of breastfeeding and frequent nighttime feedings.

Telescopic legs enable the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, including divan bases or beds with drawers. It has a tilting feature for babies with reflux, as well as the ability to rock to soothe them to sleep after a meal. It's also very large and offers excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.

The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our test subjects, even with the lengthy instruction manual. It's heavier than some of the other side-sleepers, but it's very portable and can be moved from room to room with ease. It's also small enough to fit in a travel bag when not in use which is an advantage if you need to transport it. The only negative our testers have found is that the side panel didn't flex as much compared to other models. This caused it to be a bit more difficult to observe your baby from the bed.

The Shnuggle Air

The Shnuggle Air twin bedside cot crib is a great option when you're looking for an infant crib that will grow with your child. It's a crib for co-sleeping that can be attached securely to your bed and can be transformed into a stylish cot once your baby is old enough. In contrast to other models of bedside crib like the Shnuggle Air is built with breathability in mind. The mesh side panels with dual-view and airflow mattress that is hypoallergenic and breathable allow for maximum airflow, keeping your baby cool and comfortable. A gentle incline option helps to reduce colic and reflux while the zip down side makes it easy to feed or soothe your baby at night.

The conversion kit for cots (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear instructions and everything you require to begin. It took us about an hour to assemble, and was relatively simple. The only drawback was the lack of written captions on a few images, which made it difficult to understand some of the steps. Overall, it was a simple procedure and the quality of the materials used was high.

In co-sleeping mode we discovered the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent option for breastfeeding mothers and women who have had a c-section since it allows them to easily reach out to their infant for feeding and comfort without having to get up from their own bed. It's a great option for parents who don't want the hassle of putting their baby in a traditional cot, or getting them out of it.

The gliding motion was found to be extremely helpful in lulling babies to sleep after feedings at midday or night. The drop-down side can be accessible to feed or calm babies in the middle of the night this was a huge selling point for our exhausted test mums. Although it doesn't rock or have extra features such as a sound system, the Joie Roomie Slide's sleek design and functional features make it a great addition to our top crib reviews for bed.
