15 Reasons Why You Shouldn t Be Ignoring Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.
The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are functional items which can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using an button, which will display an Best item upgrade's preview at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item upgrading and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.
Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means that are both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a specific item upgrader Mod level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that same item upgrader kit level will be less expensive, even if they belong to another set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available when certain milestones are reached.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an item upgrade that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific level upgrades for items. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.
The use of these currencies isn't too difficult however, the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their gear up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them wisely. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
