Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that autonomous vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills and staining) in one go without the need to change devices. They also can save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The automatic vacuum and mop cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

For instance, you can ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only issue it has is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for Robot Vacuums uk 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you look at all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This improves the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then change its course automatically and clean around them without missing a step.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only downside I've discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot vacuum that vacuums and mops passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these through the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings and monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

These can be set via the app, or via buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customising your cleaning routine.
