15 Terms That Everyone Within The Item Upgrade Industry Should Know
Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The statistics of an item are improved through upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment provides a linear increase in a given stat.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain a level gauge for each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an Best item upgrade varies with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the power of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved through a number of means such as using upgrade components and increasing an item's mark level or rarity. In addition, many items can be reforged to increase their stats.
Upgradeable items can be found all over the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The primary method to upgrade equipment is by making use of upgrade components, which are items that can be slotted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses while others give general bonuses.
There are many types of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, can be placed on any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than equipment-specific upgrades. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools and provide numerous bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, and any necessary components or materials. If you don't have enough of either the upgrade button will show as Blocked.
The number of upgrade components required for a specific item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of upgrading increases with the upgrade level and rarity, however it can be reduced through many different ways, such as purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them with other players.
Most weapons can be improved by a prefix such as a rune or an insignia. Other weapons can be improved by adding the suffix. These upgrades add an adjective to the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are an effective tool to communicate visual information. They move to grab the attention of the viewer and spark curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, making them more effective in communicating the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.
Each glyph increases the value of a stat by certain range. This is clearly displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the maximum value that a glyph can enhance a stat by and not the amount it actually improves the stat by. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and quality of the item level upgrade that you are enchanting.
The majority of upgrade components that are installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use, but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can move the item upgrader mod to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
You can remove the glyph using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is installed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged with the glyph shards.
Adding a glyph to an item could cause it to become unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you remove the item. You can also add the glyph on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This can be helpful for players who are taking many hits from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens permit players to alter the affixes they use on their weapons and equipment, and can be found in a variety of ways, including in mistery boxes or as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with a random affix that is typically better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens are also a great option to reroll stats on weapons and can be upgraded to increase damage or perks.
Rerolled items don't appear in the menu of upgrade options, but they can still be upgraded. By pressing the "upgrade button", you can recycle the items that have been rerolled. This will alter the layout of the item's window, and allow up to six items to be selected for recycling. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. This amount is determined based on the item's rarity and its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable to recycle than those with lower levels.
Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits for upgraded units. A reroll will roll the % chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded. If it is lower, the weapon remains the same. Weapons can be repeatedly rolled up to three times.
Rerolling is an excellent option to upgrade an item. However, players should be aware that the total ilvl is reduced by the number the rerolls required to bring it to the final ilvl. This reduction effect is most effective for ring items and Diadems that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.
The Reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive and it's more reasonable to let players pay for it in the form of money or a food item which would allow players to alter their builds without wasting time and energy. However paying for rerolls is not something the developers are planning to implement at this point in the game's development. They're planning to include the ability for players to alter their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are several ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount that increases the value of an upgrade for any stat. The second is to boost the effect of an upgrade, which increases the healing or damage of a particular stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will retain its iLevel, but will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.
When you upgrade items, it is important to keep in mind that upgrades are not guaranteed. In the majority of cases, a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are occasions where a higher or more special roll can occur. In addition, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type and when you upgrade a rare or unusual item to an extraordinary type, it will have a chance to get an increased iLevel.
Upgrades can be costly particularly if you are upgrading equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The price will be based on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it comes with. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to reach the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky, your upgraded item will reach the highest level of its upgrade track and unlock an additional bonus effect. This will provide the item with a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level, however. In general the upgrade effect is increased by a factor of +3.
Based on the item's level of base and upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will change too. For instance an item upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary one can be expected to gain the enhanced defense of the new base Best item upgrader.
