WoW Upgrades - The item level upgrade (http://ezproxy.cityu.edu.Hk) Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrades upgrader lets players upgrade item their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using a button, which displays a preview of the item upgrader kit at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item upgrade is upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with some new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will cost less even in the event that they are part of a different gear set.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available after certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a few options. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be used to purchase gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complicated may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, when an item reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. It is Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the best gear you can locate and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with high-quality gear.
