Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes that boost its base stats or adding additional perks. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, giving an added bonus or effect while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, or found as loot gathered by enemies or received from chests and missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

In order to Upgrade item a weapon or piece of armor, the user must select it, and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the material or component needed to make that happen.

There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be placed in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are gems that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same benefits as jewels, however they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, will add their name to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph with a different one the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of inscriptions which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant differences from the previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level up however, the materials needed aren't as high. This allows players to focus their efforts on a couple of key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the upgrade costs across several items.

Once an item has been leveled out and is leveled out, it will be eligible for an upgrade set of components, as well as a boost in the chance that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It will reset at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to receive affixes that will increase its features. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item upgrading's class. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests to complete based on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the choice to transfer it to a new character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower chance of success.

To measure the height of a structure engineers use an instrument to compare the measurement with an established reference point, like a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and the level and then turning the level and taking the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that buildings are constructed to the highest level of accuracy and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering an item upgrader mod's upgrade components. It is a very important part of the game that can boost the strength, damage or other attributes. It is possible to do this through the item upgrading menu, or by pressing the Reroll button whenever you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be done sparingly.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or an similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of the level which shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than others. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns, and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This can be good or bad, depending on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may also come with a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added over the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater chances of obtaining a unique bonus.

The game also includes various sets which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is a great method of giving the character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players prefer to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling can help you get a more powerful character quicker, which enables you to progress in the game and achieve higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They can have different dimensions, contain no elements at all, or have a single element. They are useful for organizing data or separating information. They can also be useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways such as size and shape.

There are many set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Sets of armor that offer high defense or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically don't improve the quality of the item's stats when as compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade when your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already large.

Some set items are upgraded to meet their unique procs, which can be particularly useful in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, increasing their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to the level of the different tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower level items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness when it comes to damage.

To see if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button on the screen of their character. The attributes of the item will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the requirements for upgrading specific items.

In general generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will result in a significant increase in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
