20 Fun Infographics About Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade option lets players boost the gear rating of an item by up to 700 points and add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't change much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats, such as crit chance, attack damage PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally there are many weapons with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a unit. This bonus may exceed the damage that an upgrade alone can cause.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also reroll the stats of the base. This is generally a positive thing, but it can also have negative effects. For items that are only used in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example) upgrading them can make them unusable unless you have an extremely fortunate roll.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to improve their stats. In the case of chests or helms this will increase its defense base while a belt and gloves will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it can sometimes change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain when upgrading along with the relative values of those stats. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 fewer times because it's an absolute statistic.
Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button within the item upgrader mod menu, using the arrows that circle. This will reroll the item and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.
Armor
Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a an enormous difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, making it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a special side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees needed for each will vary. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade items each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to keep up in frigid environments with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense so that you're able to withstand a rout with your comrades.
You can't upgrade your armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor for physical strength or the power of spells. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have a few upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets so that you can get around a few monsters.
Potions
Potions are substances in bottles that, if consumed, provide the user with the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, enhancing their effectiveness. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them on a table or in an chest of the Alchemist. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and choose the "upgrade item" option from the menu. This will open an GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will give you when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP count.
Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the way potions are used. Splash potions for instance have now a duration of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item. The potion table can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be used in cauldrons. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron drains the potion and refills the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions that are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone. The table of potions has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could also refer to an ornament or object that serves a function but isn't essential, like a Thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is used to symbolize affection or friendship, specifically between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be exchanged at any time without losing statistics.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens, or fragments from rare trinkets.
Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a brand new trinket. A player can upgrade items a trinket with just 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as the older one, and come with an additional 1% upgrade bonus.
Once the old Trinkets have become not usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other pieces of gear that they won't replace soon (for instance an earring or cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl after they are no longer useful and the new trinket will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it is saved using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying new ones.
